Machined from 416R stainless and finished in an oil-slick rainbow PVD — a decorative multi-color surface treatment. PVD is thinner and more color-shift-prone than DLC or nitride and will show wear rings around the muzzle and at the barrel hood after 500–1,000 rounds. This is a cosmetic finish choice; the underlying 416R barrel geometry is factory-spec.
Wear note: PVD/TiN and similar decorative surface coatings will show gas wear and holster contact over time — this is normal and does not affect function. Slide pairing: shows best under a window slide or a lightly-cut DLC slide where the rainbow finish is visible in the ejection port. Break-in: run 100–150 rounds before evaluating accuracy or refinishing.
