Noveske brings their rifle-side precision to the pistol bench with this 9mm replacement barrel cut specifically for the Glock 17 Gen 5. Gen 5 only — the locking surfaces and barrel-hood geometry changed from earlier generations, so this will NOT drop into Gen 1, 2, 3, or 4 frames or slides. Verify your slide is Gen 5 before ordering.
The barrel runs a hard, low-friction DLC (diamond-like carbon) finish over precision-cut rifling. DLC pulls double duty: it slicks the bearing surfaces for cleaner cycling and adds corrosion resistance for carry or humid-climate training. Chamber is factory-spec 9mm Luger — standard-pressure range, defense, and 124-grain match loads all run as intended; +P is fine within the round's pressure spec.
Specs:
Break-in: run 100 rounds of clean standard-pressure ammo to seat the barrel against the locking block, then clean and inspect. The DLC will show a faint bright wear ring at the lockup point after the first range trip — that's expected contact, not a defect. Confirm slide lockup before any suppressor or comp install.
