Glock Magazines For Any Model

If you're shopping for Glock magazines, you're probably not here to window shop. You're here to find something that works every time with no excuses and no nonsense. At 3CR Tactical, we get it. We're a small family run shop built around serving fellow shooters, hunters, and weekend range regulars.

We’ve built our reputation by offering reliable gear at prices that don’t make your wallet wince. And when it comes to mags, we’ve got plenty of options for the most popular Glock models out there.

Choosing the Right Magazine for Your Glock

Every Glock model has its own personality and that includes the magazine it takes. What fits a Glock 17 is not going to slide into a Glock 43 and trying to force that square peg into a round hole just creates problems. That’s why the first step is knowing your model and your needs.

Some of our regulars use their Glock 19 for daily carry and want compact mags that won’t print. Others shoot competitively with a Glock 34 and look for higher capacity and easy handling. We stock mags that serve both ends of the spectrum and a lot in between from brands like Shield Arms, Promag, Magpul, and the Glock factory line itself.

If you're sorting through our stock, you can use our filter options to check for your exact model or preferred brand. It saves time and lets you zero in on what fits. Budget minded? So are we. That’s part of why we started 3CR Tactical in the first place.

Where Is The Magazine Release On a Glock?

The magazine release is located just behind the trigger guard on the left side of the grip. That’s it, no mystery and no hidden latch. You press it with your thumb and the magazine pops free. Now some of you lefties out there may be wondering if Glock thought of you. They did.

Many models have reversible releases and it’s worth checking your user manual or reaching out if you're not sure. We’ve seen folks struggle with grip technique when switching between compact and full size Glocks so don’t be shy about adjusting hand placement. Comfort and function should always go hand in hand.

How To Disassemble a Glock Magazine

To take apart a Glock magazine press in the baseplate tab slide the floor plate forward and remove the spring and follower. Why bother? Because magazines get dirty. Sand carbon dust you name it and it finds its way in.

One of our customers who shoots desert matches cleans his mags more than his gun. You might not need to go that far but occasional disassembly helps avoid feeding issues. Just be mindful when you remove the baseplate. That spring comes out with energy. Wear glasses and have a clean surface nearby.

How to Load a Glock Magazine

Loading a Glock magazine is simple, press each round down and back under the feed lips with your thumb. But let’s not pretend it’s always pleasant. The first few rounds are easy. After that especially on higher capacity mags your thumbs might start filing complaints.

Using a mag loader saves time and pain. If you load a dozen mags before a long session at the range you’ll thank yourself for the shortcut. Also don’t force anything. If it feels off it probably is. And always double check you’re using the right caliber. Sounds obvious but mix ups happen even to experienced shooters when they’re in a hurry.

Are Glock Magazines Interchangeable?

Yes some Glock magazines are interchangeable but only when the calibers match and the frame size allows it. Full size mags often work in compact models but not the other way around. For example a Glock 17 mag will usually function in a Glock 19 but that Glock 19 mag is not going to reach the feed ramp on a 17.

Some folks use grip sleeves to make larger mags feel more natural in smaller frames. It is not required but it can make a noticeable difference in handling. Compatibility also shifts between generations. A Gen 3 mag might not work with a Gen 5 depending on your mag release setup. Not sure? Reach out. We help people navigate this kind of thing every day and we are happy to provide guidance based on real use cases.
