This Glock OEM recoil rod guide assembly is the genuine Glock factory guide rod and recoil spring assembly for the Glock 17 Gen 5 and Glock 34 Gen 5. It is a drop-in original part with no fitting, for replacing a worn recoil spring or keeping a factory spare on hand.
The recoil spring assembly returns the slide to battery after each shot. Springs weaken with round count, and a tired spring can lead to failures to return to battery, harder slide-to-frame impact and more muzzle flip. Replacing the assembly with the factory part puts your pistol back to the spring rate it left the factory with, which is what Glock's own parts are made to do. Glock factory original parts are made with the same attention to detail and quality as the pistols.

This assembly will not fit Gen 4 slides. Confirm your pistol is a Gen 5 Glock 17 or 34 before ordering. To install, field strip the pistol and seat the assembly with the rod end against the barrel lug. Then function-check that the slide returns fully to battery before you fire it.
