The 43, 43X and 48 share this slim-frame recoil assembly. It will not fit the double-stack Glock 19, 17 or 26.
Glock recommends replacing the recoil spring assembly at regular service intervals; symptoms of a worn unit include sluggish return to battery, brass landing much further than usual, or increased felt recoil. It is a consumable wear part.
