Fit: The 5/8-24 thread is common on .30 caliber rifle barrels, but it is not universal. Measure or confirm your barrel's thread pitch before ordering, and confirm your bore is .30 caliber or smaller. Never mount a brake bored for a smaller caliber on a larger-bore barrel.
Installation: Clean the barrel threads and the brake threads before installing. A brake has to be timed so its ports sit evenly to each side, so use a crush washer or shim kit to index it, then torque it to spec. Check alignment before firing, ideally with a bore alignment rod, and confirm the bullet path is clear. If you are unsure about timing or alignment, have a gunsmith install it.
