The Fortis RED STS Muzzle Brake for 7.62 is the Fortis Rapid Engagement Device for .308 / 7.62 rifles threaded 5/8x24. It cuts recoil and muzzle rise on a hard-kicking AR-10 or bolt gun, so you stay on target and get faster follow-up shots.
Fortis built the RED to work as well as it looks. It was tested and evaluated by military and law enforcement shooters, then put to the test by 3-Gun competitors, and it held up under harsh full-auto conditions. The brake is 303 stainless steel and is made in the USA. It is Control Shield compatible, and a crush washer is included for installation.

Fit check: confirm your barrel is threaded 5/8x24 and chambered in a caliber this 7.62 brake supports before you order. 5/8x24 is also used on some smaller-caliber barrels, and the brake's bore is sized for 7.62.
Time the brake with the crush washer so the ports are oriented correctly, and check that it is tight before firing. Expect more side blast than a flash hider.
