This AR-10 .308 dust cover assembly is a complete ejection-port cover for DPMS-pattern .308 / AR-10 upper receivers. The cover door, hinge rod, spring and C-clip all come in the package, so you can install it without sourcing parts separately.

The dust cover closes the ejection port when the rifle is not firing, keeping dirt, sand and debris out of the bolt carrier group and chamber area. It opens automatically when the bolt carrier moves rearward, so it does not interfere with cycling. A missing or bent cover is a common gap on a home-built or used .308 upper, and this assembly replaces the whole unit at once.

The AR-10 / .308 dust cover is larger than an AR-15 cover and is not interchangeable with AR-15 uppers. Confirm your upper uses the DPMS pattern rather than the Armalite pattern before ordering. When installing, tension the spring before you seat the hinge rod so the door snaps open cleanly, then secure the rod with the C-clip.
