I've attempted with multiple variations of Glock magazines, multiple variations of high and low quality ammunition, this gun has a failure to feed every other round. I have other Glocks I used as a control for both the ammunition and the magazines. I followed the proper break in procedure. And pain-stakingly processed dozens of jams. It took a few trips to the range to be able to get about 250 rounds of ammo through this upper. With no signs of improvement. I consider it lucky if I get through 3 rounds without a jam. Not to mention, the times where i get particularly lucky and don't experience any jams, the firing pin has a light strike on the round. From my observation, it seems that the slide is having a hard time closing / forcing the round into place. This may be a guide-rode / spring issue. But the barrel floats / wiggles a lot more than a traditional 3rd gen Glock 19, leading me to believe this issue is rooted either in the quality of the barrel or the quality of the guide rod. Considering the price of a fair value firing pin, fair value guide rod, and fair value barrel. You're better off just purchasing one of those police surplus Glocks for $300 off of gun.deals that crops up every now and then. Trust me I really REALLY wanted this to work. But considering the investment relative to this price point I'm finding it harder and harder to justify why I made this purchase.
Nice slide. Looks better than expected. Had some light strikes with cheap target ammo but I changed the striker assembly, and it works much better. Well worth the price! Looks like a Gen 3 Glock slide.
The slide looks and feels like a gen3 19. Slide. The coating is good but after taking it to the range for the first time I noticed the firing pin leaves a lot to be desired. Put about 150 rounds through this upper just for about every third or fourth round to be a light strike. I did notice as long as you drop the round into the chamber the fire success rate is 100% but pulling rounds out of the mag the slide’s performance diminishes. I’m not sure if this is a tolerance issue or a firing pin quality issue but I would like to find out how to get this working better.
If you get 100% success rate with a manual chambering of a round, then it is most likely that the action on that slide needs to be loosened up by properly breaking it in to remove the friction between the new parts.
