Zaffiri Precision makes CNC-machined Glock slides under the ZPS label — RMR-ready, heavily serrated, with tight machining tolerances. If you are researching a Zaffiri build or trying to understand the ZPS lineup, here is what the model differences actually mean and what frames they work with.
ZPS.2 vs. ZPS.3: What Actually Differs
Both the ZPS.2 and ZPS.3 are stripped G19 Gen 3 slides machined for the standard RMR optic footprint. The ZPS.3 has a more aggressive front serration pattern and a refined slide window cut that removes slightly more material for weight reduction. The functional difference for a carry or range gun is minor. Both use the same internal components and mount the same RMR-pattern optics.
Neither the ZPS.2 nor ZPS.3 fits Gen 4 or Gen 5 Glock frames. The rail system changed starting in Gen 4 — ZPS slides are built for Gen 3 G19 and Gen 3 G34 frames only. If you are running a Gen 4 or Gen 5 lower, the ZPS series is not compatible without a Gen 3 frame swap.
Optic Compatibility
ZPS slides use the standard RMR footprint, which covers a wide range of optics: Trijicon RMR, Holosun 507c, Holosun 508t, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and other RMR-pattern red dots. This is the full-size pistol optic footprint — not the smaller RMSc used on G43/43X/G48 slides. If you are moving from a MOS factory slide to a ZPS slide, the optic transfers directly without needing a new mount.
G43/43X/48 Parts from Zaffiri
For Slimline Glock builds, Zaffiri makes the Zaffiri Precision Upper Parts Kit for Glock 43/43X/48 at $85.04. This kit covers the slide internals — extractor, spring-loaded bearing, firing pin, firing pin safety, and associated springs. It is a clean way to complete a stripped slide build on any of these three platforms without sourcing each piece separately.
Zaffiri Compensators
Zaffiri also makes the Blowhole Compensator for Glock 9mm Gen 1-5, available in stainless, TiN, and their Spectrum anodized finish. It installs at the muzzle of a threaded barrel (1/2x28 thread pitch, standard for G17/G19/G34). Running a compensator requires a threaded barrel and may require a state permit — verify local regulations before purchasing.
Current Availability
Zaffiri's ZPS slides cycle in and out of stock — the G19 Gen 3 ZPS.2 and ZPS.3 are not continuously available. If you are planning a ZPS build, verify stock before purchasing a frame, since the slide defines the optic cut and serration pattern for the whole build. When ZPS slides are out of stock, the Glock Slides category has RMR-ready stripped slides from other manufacturers on the same Gen 3 G19 platform.
Quick Reference
- ZPS.2 and ZPS.3 fit Gen 3 G19 and Gen 3 G34 frames only — not Gen 4 or Gen 5
- Both use the standard RMR footprint — Trijicon RMR, Holosun 507c/508t, and other RMR-pattern optics
- Slides are stripped — source a completion kit or order the Zaffiri Upper Parts Kit for G43/43X/48 to finish the build
- Compensators require a threaded barrel and state compliance; check local laws before purchasing
Zaffiri makes a capable machined slide for builders who want an RMR cut and aggressive serrations at a price point below Agency Arms or Grey Ghost. If the ZPS slides are in stock for a Gen 3 G19 build, they are a solid choice. If they are not, the Zaffiri Upper Parts Kit for the Slimline platforms is the most accessible Zaffiri component currently available.
