The Glock 48 is Glock's slim-line 9mm compact — a full-length slide on the narrower Slimline frame. The upgrade market is smaller than the G19's, but there are solid options. Here is what fits the G48 platform, what optic cuts work, and what to verify before you order.
G48 Platform Basics
The G48 runs a 4.17" barrel on Glock's Slimline frame — narrower than a G19, same length. The G48 and G43X share the same frame width but use different slide lengths: the G43X has a 3.41" barrel and a shorter slide. These slides are not interchangeable. If you are building or upgrading a G48, use slides listed specifically for the G48.
Factory G48 MOS models use the RMSc optic footprint — compatible with the Holosun EPS Carry, Sig Romeo Zero Elite, and Shield SMS2. Most aftermarket G48 slides follow the same RMSc standard. Confirm the footprint before purchasing an optic.
Slide Options
The LFA Cerakote Combat X RMSc Slide for Glock 48 at $169 is the most available option for G48 builds right now. It has an RMSc-pattern optic cut and LFA's cerakote finish — a harder surface than standard phosphate. The Combat X is a stripped slide; you will need to transfer or source internals separately.
For other options as inventory shifts, check the Glock Slides category directly — slim-line slide inventory moves quickly and restocks do not follow a fixed schedule.
Barrel Upgrades
The 9mm DLC Crown Cut Barrel for Glock 48 at $44 is the most accessible upgrade. DLC (diamond-like carbon) is harder than standard steel and resists fouling and wear better than a stock barrel. It is a direct drop-in replacement at standard length with no threading.
For a precision-level option, the Agency Arms Mid Line Black Barrel for Glock 48 at $252 is match-grade stainless with Agency's DLC finish. Agency barrels are cut to tighter tolerances than OEM and are a common choice for defensive and competitive builds where accuracy matters.
Optic Footprint: RMSc, Not RMR
The G48's slim slide profile uses the RMSc footprint — smaller than a full-size RMR. Do not attempt to mount a Trijicon RMR or Holosun 507c (standard RMR footprint) on an RMSc-cut slide without an adapter; the screw pattern does not align. For the G48, you want an optic with an RMSc-native mount or a verified adapter plate for your specific optic.
Before You Buy
- Verify the slide is listed for the G48 — G43X slides are shorter and will not fit a G48 frame correctly
- RMSc is the standard optic footprint for G48-size slides; full-size RMR requires an adapter
- Stripped slides need internals — plan to transfer your barrel and completion parts, or source a separate assembled slide if you want everything in one package
- Threaded barrel and suppressor setups require state compliance; verify before purchasing
The G48 is a platform where optic footprint matters more than usual — the RMSc cut is not compatible with most full-size red dots without adapters, and holster fit gets complicated with adapter plates. Build around RMSc-native optics, keep the profile slim, and the G48 performs exactly as designed: a full-length 9mm in a package that disappears on the belt.
